Gustav Gardener

Gustav Gärtner (born August 22, 1850 in Ochtrup ; † February 27, 1929 in Osnabrück ) was a German administrative lawyer and politician.

Life

Gustav Gärtner obtained his school-leaving certificate on August 27, 1868 at the Warendorf grammar school. On May 1, 1869, he joined the fusilier regiment “General-Field Marshal Prince Albrecht of Prussia” (Hannoversches) No. 73 as a one-year volunteer and took part in the war against France (1870/71) . On August 29, 1871, he was released from military service.

He studied mathematics, history and philosophy at the Münster Academy and law at the Universities of Munich and Berlin. On December 28, 1878, he passed the exam to become a court assessor. On August 2, 1879, he was appointed government assessor at the Münster agricultural administration. On July 11, 1882, he was entrusted with the municipal administration of the Ahaus district office and on July 18, 1883, he was finally appointed district administrator of the Ahaus district.

In 1895 he became senior councilor in the Bromberg government . In 1901 he became the representative of the President of the Schleswig government . Before he retired on August 28, 1919, he worked for the Breslau government from 1903 and for the Osnabrück government from 1909 .

As a National Liberal member of the Westphalian Provincial Parliament .

His son Friedrich Gärtner was a ministerial official.
