Mount Darwin is a prominent, but only low, ice-free mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises about 8 km west-southwest of Mount Bowers at the beginning of the Beardmore Glacier near the polar plateau .

The mountain was discovered by participants in the Nimrod expedition (1907-1909) under the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton . It is named after Leonard Darwin (1850–1943), then President of the Royal Geographical Society .
