The Mount There is a 2250 m high and striking ice-free mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Maud Mountains it rises at the confluence of the Cappellari Glacier and the Amundsen Glacier .
Participants in the Byrd Antarctic Expedition (1928–1930) discovered and mapped it. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1967 after the US geologist Wakefield Dort Jr. (* 1923) from the University of Kansas , who worked at McMurdo Station from 1965 to 1966 and as an exchange scientist on the Antarctic winter 1967 Japanese Shōwa station had worked.
