Mount Eissinger is a 1,195 m high, large and numerous ridges -provided Mountain in Traverse Mountains on the Rymill coast of Palmer Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . Near the summit it is covered with snow, while on the north flank it is characterized by sheer cliffs and on the west side by an imposing rectangular rock spur , which arches from the northern end of the Riley Glacier to a height of 500 m .
The United States Geological Survey carried out a geodetic survey of the mountain in 1974. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1976 after Karlheinz Eissinger (1925-2009), topographical engineer of the survey during the exploration of Ellsworthland in 1968-1969. Due to the similar spelling, there is a certain risk of confusion with Mount Essinger in East Antarctic Victoria Land .
