Mount Essinger is a 1905 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Royal Society Range, it towers over the eastern massif of Cathedral Rocks .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1992 in connection with the naming of the Chaplains Tableland after Lieutenant Commander Jesse W. Essinger of the United States Navy , who was a chaplain at McMurdo Station in the Antarctic winter of 1968 . Due to the similar spelling, there is a certain risk of confusion with Mount Eissinger on the Antarctic Peninsula .
