Mount Freya is a 2225 m high and prominent mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Asgard Range of the Transantarctic Mountains, it rises east of Mount Thor .
Participants in a 1958 to 1959 campaign as part of New Zealand's Victoria University's Antarctic Expeditions named him after the goddess Freya from Germanic mythology .
