Mount Globus is a 1270 m (according to British data 1273 m ) high mountain on South Georgia . It rises between Fanning Ridge and Mount Corneliussen at the western end of the Allardyce Range .
The South Georgia Survey mapped the mountain as part of its 1951-1957 survey of South Georgia. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1958 after Hvalfangerselskapet "Globus" A / S , a Norwegian whaling company founded in Larvik in 1924 , which was the first to use the slipway patented by Norwegian whaling captain Petter Sørlle (1884–1933) for processing whale carcasses on factory ships began.
