Mount González

Mount González is a 889  m high and striking mountain in the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . It rises 1.5 km east of the Asman Ridge ridge in the Sarnoff Mountains of the Ford Ranges .

It was mapped by participants in the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941) and the United States Geological Survey using their own surveys and using aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1959 and 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after the Chilean Geologist Óscar González-Ferrán, who was involved in explorations of Marie Byrd Land as part of the United States Antarctic Program from 1967 to 1968 .
