Mount Hart is a 3000 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 3 km northwest of Mount Chider in the Admiralty Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after Lieutenant Vernon David Hart, senior officer of the VX-6 flight squadron on the McMurdo- Station in the Antarctic winter of 1968.
