Mount Chider is a 3110 m high and prominent mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 3 km southeast of Mount Hart in the Admiralty Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after Lieutenant Commander Thomas J. Chider (1937-2000), helicopter pilot of the VX flight squadron -6 at McMurdo Station during Operation Deep Freeze in 1968.
