Mount Helms is a rounded and partly snow-covered mountain in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the center of the Martin Hills it rises between Mount Semperbon and Mount Oldenburg .
A team from the University of Minnesota , led by the US geologist John Campbell Craddock , determined the geographic position of the mountain in January 1963 as part of the United States Antarctic Research Program . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1964 after Ward J. Helms, a radiation researcher at Byrd Station in 1962.
