Mount Janetschek

Mount Janetschek is a 1455  m high mountain not far from the Scott coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises on the southern flank of the Larsen Glacier between the Widowmaker Pass and Mount Larsen .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it using its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1955 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after the Austrian biologist Heinz Janetschek (1913–1997), who from 1961 to 1962 worked on the McMurdo station .
