The Widowmaker Pass (English for Widowmaker Pass ) is a mountain pass near the Scott Coast in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It leads between Mount Janetschek and Mount Gerlache from the Larsen Glacier to the Reeves Glacier . The pass is characterized by glacier ice, which is criss-crossed by numerous and often covered crevasses .
Participants in a campaign run from 1962 to 1963 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named it that way to highlight the risk involved in visiting this pass.
