Mount Macnowski is a 1490 m high mountain in Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . In the northern part of the Scaife Mountains it rises 8 km west-southwest of the Schmitt Mesa .
He was first spotted on the US Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948). The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain in 1968 after Francis Bernard Macnowski (* 1945), a construction mechanic on the Amundsen-Scott- South Pole Station in 1967.
