Mount McDonald is a 2470 m high mountain in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Victory Mountains, it rises 6 km northwest of Mount Burton on the northern flank of the Trafalgar Glacier .
Participants of the New Zealand Federated Mountain Clubs Antarctic Expedition (NZFMCAE, 1962–1963) named him after William McDonald (1892– after 1980), a resident in New Zealand, a sailor on board the Terra Nova in the Terra Nova Expedition (1910–1913) by British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott .
