The Mount Minto is a largely ice-free mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . Southwest of Robertson Bay, it rises 4 km east of Mount Adam in the central part of the Admiralty Mountains and is the highest mountain in this mountain range at 4165 m .
The British polar explorer James Clark Ross discovered him on January 11, 1841 during his Antarctic expedition (1839-1843). Ross named the mountain after Gilbert Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 2nd Earl of Minto (1782-1859), First Lord of the Admiralty from 1835 to 1841.
