Mount Moody is a 2040 m high mountain in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the northwestern Lanterman Range of the Bowers Mountains, it rises 8 km southeast of Carnes Crag .
The northern group of the 1963 to 1964 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named him after Lieutenant Daniel Major Moody of the United States Navy's VX-6 flight squadron , who had flown the southern group of this campaign to their target area.
