The Mount Natazhat is a 4095 m high mountain on the northern edge of the Saint Elias Mountains in Alaska , near the border to Canadian territory Yukon .
It is located in Wrangell-St.-Elias National Park between the White River in the north and Klutlan Glacier in the south, 98 km northeast of McCarthy . The mountain is located in the catchment area of the Yukon River , which flows to the Bering Sea .
The name of Mount Natazhat is derived from the Alaskan Native American name for the mountain and was first documented by the United States Geological Survey in 1891 .
Ascent history
The first ascent took place in 1913 by a Canadian expedition of the International Boundary Survey from the south.
