Mount Nespelen is a massive mountain and the highest point in the coastal mountains between the Mackay Glacier and the Fry Glacier in East Antarctica Victoria Land . It rises on the northern flank of the Benson Glacier and 6.5 km south of Mount Davidson .
The New Zealand Northern Group of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) named it after the USS Nespelen , a US tanker in McMurdo Sound from 1956-1957 .
