Venizel is about five kilometers east-southeast of Soissons on the Aisne River , which also forms the northern municipal boundary. Venizel is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bucy-le-Long in the north, Acy in the east and south-east, Billy-sur-Aisne in the south and south-west and Villeneuve-Saint-Germain in the west and north-west.

Route nationale 31 runs along the southern edge of the municipality .
