geography
The municipality on the Ruisseau de Vandy stream (Ru de Sainte-Clotilde), which flows into the Aisne , with the districts of Ferme du Pouy, La Raperie, Vaubéron and Roy Saint-Nicolas is located around 15 kilometers north of Villers-Cotterêts on the D94 departmental road. Neighboring municipalities are Montigny-Lengrain and Laversine in the north, Cœuvres-et-Valsery in the east, Vivières in the south, Taillefontaine , Retheuil and Chelles (in the Oise department ) in the west and Hautefontaine (also in the Oise department) in the northwest.
history
The Vaubéron homestead was founded by the Longpont Monastery , a Cistercian settlement . Mortefontaine itself is traced back to a Templar foundation .
