Cys-la-Commune is a commune with 143 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (former Region: Picardie ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Soissons and is part of the canton of Fère-en-Tardenois and the communal association Communauté de communes du Val de l'Aisne . She is the bearer of the Croix de guerre 1914–1918.
geography
The municipality with the district of Pont de Chavonne lies south of the Aisne , which is flanked by the lateral canal Canal latéral à l'Aisne . Neighboring communities are Chavonne and Soupir on the opposite bank of the river in the north and northeast, Saint-Mard in the east, Courcelles-sur-Vesle in the south; Brenelle to the southwest and Presles-et-Boves to the west.
history
The Neolithic woman's grave at Cys-la-Commune is one of the richest burials of linear ceramic culture in the region.
Until the First World War , in which the community suffered considerable damage, it was served by the meter gauge network of the Chemins de fer de la Banlieue de Reims .
