Louâtre is a French municipality with 199 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (former Region: Picardie ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Soissons and is part of the canton of Villers-Cotterêts .

geography

Located around 12 km east of Villers-Cotterêts on the eastern edge of the Forêt de Retz domain forest , crossed by the D804 departmental road and touched by the La Plaine – Hirson railway to the west, it borders the Savières river in the east . The districts of Violaine, La Vallée du Gros Chène, La Falaise, La Couture and Nadon as well as Catifet in the Savières Valley belong to Corcy. Neighboring communities are Longpont (with the Longpont Monastery ) in the north, Villers-Hélon in the northeast, Billy-sur-Ourcq in the east, Chouy and Faverolles in the south and Corcy and Montgobert in the west.
