Augy is a commune with 82 inhabitants (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (former Region: Picardie ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Soissons and is part of the canton of Fère-en-Tardenois . The inhabitants are called Augyen (ne) s . The municipality is the bearer of the Croix de guerre 1914-1918.
geography
The municipality lies on the edge of the Tardenois plateau and on the left bank of the Vesle . It is traversed by Route nationale 31 ( European route 46 ) and the route of the disused and dismantled railway line from Soissons, around 15 km away, to Bazoches-sur-Vesles . Neighboring communities are Braine in the north and east, Cerseuil in the east and south and Couvrelles in the west.
