Parcy-et-Tigny is a French municipality with 256 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (former Region: Picardie ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Soissons and is part of the canton of Villers-Cotterêts .

geography

The community, to which, in addition to Parcy and Tigny, the group of houses from Coutremain in the south belongs, is located around 12 km south of Soissons, west of the D1 department road . The eastern boundary partially forms a route along the Chaussée Brunehaut . Neighboring municipalities are Villemontoire in the north, Hartennes-et-Taux and Grand-Rozoy in the east, Le Plessier-Huleu and Saint-Rémy-Blanzy in the south and south-west and Vierzy in the north-west. In the southeast of the community there is a German military cemetery.

history

The parish was formed in 1810 from the former parishes of Parcy and Tigny.

Bell tower in Parcy
  • The 16th century bell tower as a remnant of the Saint-Rémi church in Parcy, classified as a Monument historique in 1913 ( Base Mérimée PA00115862).
  • German military cemetery , created by the French military authorities as a collective cemetery from 1921 and later enlarged by adding beds, with 4,256 dead. The British war cemetery is on the territory of the neighboring municipality of Villemontoire.
  • Memorial to the 5th Cavalry Division from 1928.
