Vaudesson is a commune with 238 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (former Region: Picardie ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Soissons and is part of the canton of Fère-en-Tardenois and the communal association Communauté de communes du Val de l'Aisne . The inhabitants are known as Vaudessonnais (ses) .

geography

The municipality, 21 km northeast of Soissons with the districts Rosay, La Cité, Saint-Guislain and Vauxrains, is north of the Route nationale 2 , which connects Soissons with Laon , on the D14 departmental road on the edge of the Forêt de Pinon forest. In the north it reaches the Ailette river and the Canal de l'Oise à l'Aisne . Neighboring communities are Merlieux-et-Fouquerolles in the north, Chavignon in the east, Sancy-les-Cheminots in the south and Allemant and Pinon in the west.

history

During the First World War , the parish was completely destroyed in fighting in 1917 and 1918.
