Saint Nicolas Church in Paars

Pair is a French municipality with 314 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Soissons and the municipality of Val de l'Aisne .

geography

The municipality is located on the Vesle , about 20 kilometers east of Soissons and 36 kilometers northwest of Reims . Neighboring municipalities of Paars are Vauxtin and Dhuizel in the north, Les Septvallons with Vauxcéré in the east, Bazoches-sur-Vesles in the southeast, Mont-Notre-Dame in the south, Quincy-sous-le-Mont in the southwest and Courcelles-sur-Vesle in the west .

In the south of the municipality, near the banks of the Vesle, there is a water-filled open-cast mine called La Charbonnière .

There are two farms in the community (cereal cultivation).

The RN 31 (European route 46) leads through the municipality of Paars from Soissons to Reims . The nearest train station is three kilometers southeast in Bazoches-sur-Vesles on the Soissons – Givet railway line .
