The Mairie

Buzancy is a municipality with 190 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (former Region: Picardie ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Soissons and is part of the canton of Villers-Cotterêts . The inhabitants are known as Buzancéen (ne) s .

geography

The community is located east of the D1 departmental road , which connects Soissons with Château-Thierry , around 10 km south of Soissons. Neighboring municipalities are Rozières-sur-Crise in the north and east, Chacrise in the south-east, Hartennes-et-Taux in the south, Villemontoire in the south-west and Noyant-et-Aconin in the north-west.

history

The community (Buzenciacus), first mentioned in the 9th century, has received a tower from its stately castle. The later palace building was badly damaged by air raids in 1915 and was not restored. The church used to be a popular place of pilgrimage against sore throats.
