Condé-sur-Aisne is a commune with 360 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (former Region: Picardie ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Soissons and is part of the canton of Fère-en-Tardenois and the communal association Communauté de communes du Val de l'Aisne . The municipality is the bearer of the Croix de guerre 1914-1918.
geography
The municipality with the district Bourfaux is located east of Soissons on the D925 departmental road, which follows the northern bank of the Aisne . Most of the municipality is on the right bank of the Aisne, Bourfaux on the left. Neighboring municipalities are Celles-sur-Aisne in the north and east, Chassemy in the east, Ciry-Salsogne and Sermoise in the south and Chivres-Val in the west. In the municipality the Vesle flows into the Aisne.
history
The community is mentioned in 1202 as a condetum; during the French Revolution it was called Scevole-sur-Aisne. It suffered severe damage during the First World War .

- The Fort de Condé on the heights, built between 1874 and 1885 and fought over during the First World War, partly in the municipality of Chivres-Val, registered as a Monument historique in 2001 ( Base Mérimée PA02000032)
