history

By prefecture decree of December 20, 2016, Monampteuil moved from the Laon arrondissement to Soissons on January 1, 2017 .

Monampteuil is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ostel in the southeast, Filain in the south, Aizy-Jouy in the south, Pargny-Filain in the southwest, the municipality of Urcel in the canton of Laon-1 in the north-west, the municipality of Laval-en- in the canton of Laon-2 . Laonnois in the north and the municipality of Chevregny in the canton of Guignicourt in the east.
