Mount New Zealand is a massive and 2890 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Eisenhower Range it rises immediately northwest of the Nash Ridge on the southern flank of the Priestley Glacier .
Participants of the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) led by the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott discovered him. Scott named him in gratitude for the generous support the expedition received from the government and people of New Zealand .
