Mount Nygren is a 1000 m high and particularly pointed mountain on the Graham Coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It projects a pyramid-shaped in appearance nunataks midst of Hotine Glacier on Kiev Peninsula on.
Aerial photos of the mountain were taken in 1969 by the United States Navy's VXE-6 squadron . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after Rear Admiral Harley D. Nygren (1924-2019), director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Corps 1970-1981, the 1961 as a scientific observer to oceanographic studies in until 1962 British Antarctic Survey was active .
