Mount Payne is a 3221 m high and mostly icy mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Victory Mountains, it rises 2.8 km east of Mount Riddoll , 5.6 km east of Mount Randall and 11 km east of Mount Burrill from the Stever Ridge .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2006 after the US geographer and historian Roger Lee Payne (* 1948), who was a member of the United States Board on Geographic Names from 1993 to 2006.
