Mount Pedersen is a 2070 m high mountain in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Freyberg Mountains it rises 15 km southeast of Galatos Peak in the Salamander Range .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1969 after John M. Pedersen, a biologist at McMurdo Station in two successive Antarctic summer campaigns between 1965 and 1967.
