Mount Prior is a 1220 m high mountain on the Borchgrevink coast of East Antarctica Victoria Land . It rises ten miles west of Mount Brewster at the head of Whitehall Glacier in the western part of the Daniell Peninsula .
Participants of a campaign carried out from 1957 to 1958 by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named him after the British mineralogist George Thurland Prior (1862-1936) from the British Museum , who collected the rock samples in this region during the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) had examined.
