On the northeast flank of the Recheshnoi lies one of the hottest and most extensive thermal areas in Alaska. The Geyser Bight thermal area , eight kilometers northeast of the summit, consists of six zones of hot springs and two fumaroles along upper Geyser Creek and contains the only known geysers in Alaska. Other thermal areas can be found at Hot Springs Cove and Partov Cove on the isthmus between Mount Recheshnoi and Mount Okmok .
