Mount Shields is a mountain of 1,170 m height at the confluence of Pryor- and Robilliard glacier at the northern end of Usarp Mountains .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after Staff Sergeant James K. Shields of the United States Marine Corps , a member of the United States Navy Squadron VX-6 in Antarctica from 1962 to 1963 and from 1963 to 1964 in the service of the United States Geological Survey .
