Mount Twomey is a somewhat remote and over 1200 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Usarp Mountains it rises 3.5 km northwest of Berg Peak on the northwestern edge of the Morozumi Range .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1960 and 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain in 1970 after the geologist Arthur A. Twomey, who between 1967 and 1969 in two successive Antarctic summer campaigns the McMurdo station was active.
