Mount Ward is a 976 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It rises 2 km southeast of Fearn Hill in the southern part of the North Masson Range of the Framnes Mountains .
Participants of the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (1929-1931) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered it in 1930. A team of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions led by the Australian polar explorer John Béchervaise (1910-1998) climbed it in January 1956 for the first time. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it in September 1956 after John Livingstone Ward, who was a radio operator on Mawson Station in 1955.
