Mouriz is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Paredes . The community had 3,016 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Mouriz, Castelões de Cepeda , Vila Cova de Carros , Madalena , Besteiros , Gondalães and Bitarães were merged to form the new municipality Paredes .
