Muchtadir Aidinbekow

Muchtadir Aidinbekow ( Russian Мухтадир Айдинбеков ; also: Abdul Muchtadir Aidinbek oglu ; * 1884 in Akhty , Dagestan ; † 1918 in Quba ) was a Bolshevik activist in the Russian civil war in Dagestan and Azerbaijan .

Life

Aidinbekow came from the family of a poor farmer . He joined the Russian Social Democratic Workers' Party (RSDLP) in 1904 . In 1898 he was working on the oil fields of Baku busy. He took an active part in the work of the social democratic group Hümmət (Russian Гуммет , dt. "Energy") and the union of oil workers. In 1906 he was actively involved in founding the social democratic group Faruk (Russian Фарук ).

Aidinbekow was persecuted by the tsarist authorities. In 1908 he was arrested in Baku and exiled to Arkhangelsk Governorate for three years . In March 1912 he was arrested again.

In June 1917 Aidinbekow became a member of the Baku Committee of the RSDLP (Bolsheviks) , in October of the same year a deputy of the Baku Soviet . In 1918 he did revolutionary work in southern Dagestan. In the autumn of the same year he was captured and killed by Mousavatists .

Honors

  • The place Müqtədir (Russian Мухтадир ) in the northeast of Azerbaijan is named after Aidinbekow .
  • In his hometown Akhty there is a bust in honor of Aidinbekow.
  • In Baku a street was named after him during the Soviet era (today: Səid Rustəmov küçəsi ).
