Mudlum (i. Made Luiga , born July 31, 1966 in Pärnu ) is an Estonian writer and literary critic .

Life

Mudlum graduated from high school in Tallinn in the mid-1980s and studied at the Estonian Humanitarian Institute in the first half of the 1990s with a focus on theater , Estonian literature and philosophy . From 2007 to 2012 she studied at the Estonian Art Academy , which she completed with a BA .

Mudlum lives in Tallinn and on Muhu . She has been a member of the Estonian Writers' Union since 2017 .

Mudlum made his debut in 2014 with a collection of novels and surprised the critics with a “very nice book out of nowhere”, even comparing it with Viivi Luik . Although some critics had assumed that this was a flash in the pan, the author published other books in quick succession, which were also received very positively by the critics. At the center of her novella is a “nostalgic everyday poetics”.
