Muhammad Iqbal (athlete)

Muhammad Iqbal (born July 12, 1927 ) is a former Pakistani hammer thrower .

At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , he was eliminated from qualification. In 1954 he won silver at the Asian Games in Manila and gold at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver , and in 1956 he was eleventh at the Olympic Games in Melbourne .

In 1958 he won the Asian Games in Tokyo and took silver at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff .

Twelfth place at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome was followed by bronze at the Asian Games in Jakarta in 1962 and the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston in 1966 .

He set his personal best of 63.10 m on January 31, 1960 in Lahore .
