Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Al-Sheikh ( Arabic محمد بن إبراهيم آل الشيخ, DMG Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm Āl aš-Šaiḫ ; Full name:أبو عبد العزيز محمد بن إبراهيم بن عبد اللطيف بن عبد الرحمن بن حسن آل الشيخ / Abū ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz Ibrāhīm b. Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm b. ʿAbd al-Laṭīf b. ʿAbd ar-Raḥmān b. Ḥasan Āl aš-Šaiḫ ; * 1890 in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia ; † 1968 in Saudi Arabia) was an Islamic scholar , grand mufti and predecessor of Sheikh Abd al-Aziz ibn Baz in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

biography

Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, of the Al-Sheikh family , was raised by his father Ibrahim ibn Abd al-Latif. By the age of eleven he had learned the Koran by heart . He lost his sight when he was 16 years old, but continued to attend lectures by scholars of his time.

He studied with his father and uncle, Abdullah ibn Abd al-Latif, who was a famous scholar in the Najd at the time . He learned Fiqh and Mustalah al-Hadith (Science of Hadith ) with Saad ibn Atiq while he was learning the Arabic language with Hamad ibn Faris .

Several Saudi scholars have studied with him, including Abdullah ibn Humaid , Abd al-Aziz ibn Baz and Sulaiman ibn Ubaid . His sons Ibrahim and Abdullah became Saudi Justice Ministers.
