Muhammadgarh ( Hindi : मोहम्मदगढ़ रियासत) was one of the princely states of the Central India Agency of British India in the Malwa region in what is now the state of Madhya Pradesh . Its capital was the place Muhammadgarh (today located in Tehsil Gyaraspur in the Vidisha district). The principality was formed in 1842 from parts of Kurwai and Basoda . The title of the prince was Nawab . Muhammadgarh was a British protectorate until 1947 . In 1901 the country had an area of ​​75 km² and 3,000 inhabitants. The Nawab joined India on June 15, 1948 and joined the Madhya Bharat Princely Union on June 16 . On November 1, 1956, all princely states of the Union were dissolved and incorporated into the state of Madhya Pradesh.
