Muhittin Böcek

Muhittin Böcek (born October 25, 1962 in Konyaaltı , Antalya ) is a Turkish politician of the Republican People's Party (CHP). He has been Mayor of the City of Antalya since April 2019 .

Life

After Böcek completed his school days in his hometown of Antalya, he worked in agricultural production and transport. He also has a degree in public relations , economics , public administration and political science .

In the local elections in 1999 he was elected mayor of Konyaaltı - at that time for the Motherland Party (ANAP) , of which he was the district chairman before. Five years later he ran for the CHP and was re-elected to the office, which he was able to hold until the local elections in 2019 . In these he stood for the office of Lord Mayor and was elected with around 50.6%. He took over the office of Menderes Türel from the AKP .

Böcek is married and has one child.
