Mujandjae Kasuto (born November 25, 1985 in Windhoek , South West Africa ) is a Namibian boxer . He was a brief professional boxer in 2017, but previously celebrated successes in the amateur field.

Kasuto was a bronze medalist at the 2011 African Games and a participant in the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games .

Career

2006 Kasuto first took part in an international championship, the Commonwealth Games 2006 , but retired in the light welterweight division (-64 kg) starting in the first fight against Black Moses Mathenge, Kenya (29:14). At the African Games the following year, he did not fare any better and he was eliminated, this time in the welterweight division (- 69 kg), after a preliminary round victory in the quarter-finals against the later gold medalist Rached Merdassi , Tunisia (28: 8).

In 2008 Kasuto took part in the African Olympic qualification tournament in Windhoek and was able to do so. a. with victories over Rached Merdassi, Tunisia (6: 3), and in the final over Nick Abaka, Kenya (7: 0). At the 2008 Olympic Games , however, he was eliminated in the first fight against the 2006 European champion Andrei Balanow , Russia (8: 5).

At the Commonwealth Games 2010 Kasuto reached the quarter-finals after victories over Siphiwe Lusizi , South Africa (KO 3rd), and Michalis Michaelidis, Cyprus (5: 3), which he lost to Patrick Gallagher, Ireland (7: 5). The following year he won his first medal at an international championship: At the 2011 African Games, Kasuto fought his way to the middleweight division (-75 kg) after winning over Sekon Messan-Langan, Togo (RSC 2nd), and Benny Muziyo, Zambia (11: 7), to the semi-finals, which he lost prematurely against Felix Manga, Cameroon (RSC 1st), and thus won the bronze medal. At the military world championships 2011 Kasuto retired in the first fight against the bronze medalist from Beijing 2008 Alexis Vastine , France (DQ 3rd).

In 2012 Kasuto again took part in the African Olympic qualification tournament, and this time reached the final and thus the qualification for the 2012 Olympic Games . At the Olympic Games in London he retired after winning the preliminary round over Sobir Nazarov , Tajikistan (11: 8), in the round of 16 against Zoltán Harcsa , Hungary (16: 7).
