Mukesh D. Ambani (born April 19, 1957 in Aden , Yemen ) is an Indian entrepreneur and CEO of the petrochemical company Reliance Industries . With a fortune of $ 55 billion, Ambani ranks 13th on Forbes Magazine 's The World's Billionaires list in 2019 .

Ambani and his two younger brothers (including Anil Ambani ) are the sons of Reliance's founder, Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani . He has been married to Nita Delal since 1985 and has three children.

Career

Ambani graduated from the University of Bombay with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering , followed by an MBA from Stanford Business School . He has been with Reliance since 1981 and became Chairman of the Board in 2002 after the death of his father. In 2016, Ambani was elected to the National Academy of Engineering and received the Othmer Gold Medal .
