The Mulingushi (also Mulungushi ) is a river in the central province of Zambia near Kabwe .

Conflicts
During the civil war in Zimbabwe , then President Kenneth Kaunda allowed the guerrillas around Joshua Nkomo to maintain a military base in this area. For this purpose, tanks were supplied by the GDR in order to start a conventional war against (South) Rhodesia from there .
In the late 1970s, the Rhodesian special forces SAS Regiment and Selous Scouts, together with the Rhodesian Air Force, destroyed this military base, killing 2,000 guerrillas.
