Munarheim is the name of a nine-member symphonic black metal band from Coburg .

history

The band was founded in 2007 by Pascal Pfannenschmidt, Sebastian Braun, Marco Lamb and Matthias Zapf. This was joined by members of the former melodic black metal band Obscura Religio . After numerous appearances at well-known festivals such as the Dark Troll Festival , the band became known nationwide. Like its predecessor, the album Stolzes Wesen Mensch received mostly positive reviews. Among other things, Metal.de awarded 10/10 points and the music magazine Legacy also awarded 15 points. Pohl, Witter and Mehringer are also active in the band Kosmopyria, which they co-founded in 2014 as a follow-up project to Obscura Religio.

style

The music reflects a mixture of the variety of modern black metal with folk elements as well as orchestral coloratura, which is generated by keyboards and synthesizers . The composers Sebastian Braun and Pascal Pfannenschmidt, who learned through classical studies, attach importance to the fact that the compositions do not "sink into sound carpets" but also remain realizable 1: 1 for a real orchestra.

According to their own statements, the texts revolve around inner longings, natural romance and social criticism. They are inspired by both romantic poetry and prose as well as contemporary themes that are wrapped and processed in a pictorial, natural-romantic garb.
